Official count:
traffic counts taken from official sources such as city, state or
county departments of transportation.
Off-premise sign:
A sign advertising a product or service different that those provided
at the property on which the sign is located. A billboard is an
off premise sign.
On-premise sign: A
sign advertising goods or services sold where the sign is located.
Outdoor Advertising Association
of America (OAAA):
The national organization supported by the outdoor media industry
that sets basic standards and promotes the use of outdoor media.
Outdoor media posting calendar:
An industry standard calendar for planning outdoor media. Each month
begins on a Monday, and consists of either for or five full weeks.
The outdoor media calendar standardizes posting and billing cycles
throughout the year.
Out-of-service: An
advertising structure temporarily or permanently unavailable for
advertising purposes.
Outside panel: Outdoor
media structure located closest to the street, where two or more
panels are side by side.
Overage: Extra posters
provided to plant operators to replace any that may become damaged
due to weather or other factors during the display period. Recommended
overage is 15% of total poster order.
Overlay: A paper strip
pasted on the face of an existing panel to display a price or other
promotional information.
